Join veteran kayaking instructor and Kokatat representative Suzanne Hutchinson for a cold water immersion clinic. The day-long program includes both inside instruction about the dangers of cold water paddling and how to prepare along with an outdoor portion on the water. Participants will learn about appropriate dress and skills for paddling in cold conditions. There will be drysuits available to demo while getting wet in the water and experiencing the cold.
Bring lunch, drinks, your boat and skirt, and paddling gear for some wet exit practice and rescue and rolling instruction for those interested. Wear wicking clothing (no cotton), fleece or wool socks and water shoes to wear over the drysuit socks. Coffee and donuts provided along with drysuits to try. Pre-registration is required through Canoe Imports at (802) 651-8760. The $10 fee covers the demo program and is redeemable for $20 in-store credit at Canoe Imports.
