A 3.76 mile competitive open water swim across Lake Champlain organized by Lake Champlain Open Water Swim. The race begins in the quaint town of  Essex, NY and ends a few miles north on the other side of the lake at the Charlotte, VT public beach. The event takes place rain or shine but race organizers reserve the right to cancel if weather conditions are windy and support craft can't navigate safely.

Participants must be 18 years or older, have experience swimming in open water, and have completed at least a 2 kilometer swim or race. The $55 registration fee covers a T shirt, timing of each participant, swimming course, and drinks and energy food at the destination. The first three male and female winners are chronicled on a winners' cup.

Participating swimmers are encouraged to gather pledges to support LCC. Pledge donations,  separate from the registration fee, will help LCC combat invasive species, reduce nutrients and toxins and foster lake stewardship.  Visit the Lake Champlain Open Water Swim website to register for the race or make a donation to LCC.
